About
Golf was a natural for Steve Caldwell from a very young age, (8), as he came from a golfing family. Steve’s 3 children: Steven Jr, Holley and Jourdan all seem to have the golf bug “naturally” as well.
Steve grew up competing as a junior golfer in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He played SEC golf at Mississippi State from 1973-1977.
His Dad is a 13 time club champ at VCC and began shooting his age at 66 and still does at a very youthful 82. His older brother Bill, a PGA member, played golf at LSU and and is the Director of Golf at Carter Plantation just north of New Orleans. His younger brother Rick is an amateur and carries an 8 handicap in Vicksburg.
Steve is a “life member” of the PGA and has 30 plus years of golf knowledge, expertise, and marketing experience.
Steve started his journey in the golf industry as non-member head professional at his home course in Vicksburg from 1977-1982.
He spent five years at St. Mary CC in South Louisiana before moving to Boston from 1987-2001.
Steve served as the Director of Golf managing 3 facilities for The Flatley Company which hosted the LPGA Boston Five Classic. He then spent 13 years at Spring Valley Country Club just south of Boston prior to developing his first Studio Golf “Works” in Brookline.
A dedicated fundraiser, Steve ran the 100th Boston Marathon at 40 years old then followed it by running the 101st the next year, raising money for The Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Now a crazy cyclist, he has cycled for The Brain Tumor Society, Alzheimers Association and The PMC Challenge. The philanthropic applications of Studio Golf “Works” appeal to Steve the most.
His enthusiasm and panache are evident to all he meets. Steve is ecstatic to be back in Boston, with his fiancee Jill Senter and sheepdog, Baylee, reconnecting with friends but most of all, his Students!!!
